Dr Jane Turner - Overcoming Burnout

Dealing with terminally ill people is a diffcult task for any health care provider, however traversing the politics of the palliative care workforce, and dealing with challenges such as diffcult patients and families, workplace conflict and even resource shortages, can lead to burnout. Burnout is a area of particular interest to Jane, who is a consultant psychiatrist and clinical lecturer at the UQ School of Psychiatry. Jane will speak about preventing burnout, within the context of the palliative care and end of life care sector.

Blake Beattie - Happiness

Amid the chaos and emotional turmoil of our working lives dealing with people affected by terminal illness, it is important to take time out to consider what makes us all happy. Blake is an experienced motivational speaker who will take us on a journey to explore our inner selves, and to find the peace and satisfaction that flows from inner happiness and joy. Blake will help us to re-visit the true meaning of our lives, and to experience the serenity and peace that flows from balance and happiness.
