Dr Jane Turner is a Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of Queensland. Her clinical and research interests are the promotion of wellness following the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and the impact of advanced cancer, in particular the issues facing families when a parent has advanced cancer. Jane chaired the working groups which developed the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Psychosocial Care of Adults with Cancer (under the auspices of the National Breast Cancer Centre and National Cancer Control Initiative) and the consumer version of these guidelines, and is Chair of the Psychosocial Oncology group of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia. She has extensive experience in oncology health professional education, including communication skills training.

Mr Blake Beattie is a director of Inspire Consulting and is the Vice Chairperson of the Life Changing Experiences Foundation. Through coaching, speaking and training, Blake has provided long term, sustainable solutions to a number of different organizations in Australia, America, Canada, Singapore and New Zealand. Myers, Telstra, the Australian Swimming Team and Community Aid Abroad are just some of the organizations that have benefited from Blake’s work over the past few years. He is the incoming President of the National Speakers Association of Australia (NSW) and is also the founder of International Pay it Forward Day which has seen some amazing random acts of kindness spread to more than 15 countries worldwide.

Prof Patsy Yates is jointly appointed as Professor of Nursing at Queensland University of Technology, and Director for Queensland Health’s Centre for Palliative Care Research and Education. She is currently the Project Lead for several national projects aimed at promoting development of the palliative care workforce. Patsy is a current member of Palliative Care Australia Executive Committee.

Ms Donna Daniel was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of Palliative Care Australia in October 2006.  Donna’s career has focused on enabling health care improvements since she embarked on a mission to find out “who makes the decisions in health care in Australia”. Towards this endeavour, Donna has held positions in lobbying and negotiation, research and analysis, policy, project management, marketing and media management for government, small business and not-for-profit organisations in Canberra. Donna is a former senior policy adviser to two Federal Health Ministers, advising on portfolio areas including health finance electronic health, immunisation, chronic disease and privacy. Donna holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Victorian College of Pharmacy.

He has led both large and small organisations, managed over 2200 staff, led strategic alliances, implemented organisational reviews and over the period developed his own unique insights into leadership and personal development.  Kevin has developed a unique Leadership Training model that introduces emerging and existing leaders to the concept of value innovation utilising leadership skills to empower leaders, inspire organisations and turn followers into leaders. These Leadership Training Workshops are a cost effective way of fast-tracking the development of leaders and managers in the workplace.
